More about the Mom behind the deals:

I used to envy all my big city friends. The ones who had access to all the great stores, with all the great sales. They could go get meat at Kroger, produce at H.E.B – whatever they wanted. They could shop the best parts of every sale and save crazy amounts of money like I have only heard of but never seen. You just can’t do that in a small town with two grocery stores. I’d have to drive a good distance to try something like that and make an entire day out of it. Which I *could* do – but it was always such an ordeal to think about it that I never *did* do it. Instead, I resigned myself to shopping mostly store brands and just accepting whatever the receipt total was – because not buying food is not an option.

There is a middle of the road option. I don’t have to just accept it. I can be smart about it. I can make the best use of the sales available to me. I can use coupons. I can use rebates. So why don’t I?

Maintaining this page is forcing me to keep my thumb on the pulse of coupons and savings that are available to me, locally at the stores, and online for necessities I would need to get anyway. I have tried several times in the past to become a true couponer, but have never succeeded, because I tried to dive in with both feet and got overwhelmed. It also didn’t help that I would forget to buy the Sunday paper to get the coupons and I would forget to take the coupons with me to the store. ;0)

This time I’m starting slow. I’m watching sales prices at the stores. I’m planning my meals around them. I am doing something I’ve never done before and shopping at both grocery stores back to back instead of just picking one. As I find them, I’m printing coupons for things I need to buy. As I remember, I’m buying Sunday papers. I plan on building that habit each week, improving my coupon methods as I learn more about it online from through my “coupon support network” (a.k.a. my coupon blogging friends.)

As I learn, you can reap the benefits, following along on this website, having access to the information I find. Bookmark this site, sign up for updates through an RSS feed, get updates through email…. this site is even mobile friendly so you can check it on your phone while you are at the store. Handy, huh?

Join me on this journey as I learn how to be wise with my money and save as much as I can – even in a tiny town like Glen Rose, Texas.

Win. Redeem.
